Modalities of Care

The assumption that all parts of ourselves are inextricably connected to one another is reflected in the modalities of care that I am drawn toward and have been trained in, including mindfulness based interventions used in conjunction with narrative and cognitive behavioral therapies, as well as EMDR and Brainspotting interventions used to lessen the intensity of traumatic experiences and memories.

Collaborative Whole Person Treatment Planning

You are the expert on you and your family (even if it doesn’t feel like it sometimes) and the focus is on figuring out what you need and how to get it.

This may include collaboration with other professional providers such as your physician, psychiatrist, or lactation consultant … and based on your wishes, needs and situation, it may also include your partner, your baby and/ or your support network.

Counseling for Couples

Couples navigating the challenges that come along with big transitions, as well as those working to cope with complicated pregnancies, medical and developmental complications, NICU hospitalizations, infertility intervention and pregnancy and newborn loss.

Individual Counseling

Creating a space that you can bring
all of yourself to,

  • where the focus is on honoring yourself - feeling the things you need to feel and finding voice for the things you need to say.

  • where the focus is on knowing yourself - uncovering who you are and the unconscious habits that limit the joy and possibilities for your life and relationships.

  • where the focus is on growing yourself - making a plan to care for and invest in all parts of you.

Group Therapy & Workshops

Therapy groups and workshops are
offered based on the needs of current
patients, as well as the needs of the
community.

Preparatory & Preventative Counseling

Focused on psychologically and
emotionally preparing for the
challenges and transformations that
parenting brings.

  • Preventative counseling has been recommended by the United States Preventative Services Task Force, as it has been shown to reduce the likelihood of depression and anxiety after birth.

  • Preventative counseling, including planning how to support yourself in the months just after giving birth, can be particularly helpful for parents (and couples) who have previously struggled with, or are at risk for, mental or physical health complications.
